In this first week and a bit our main focus has been helping the church with their outreach. They have such a heart for the people in their community. We have been helping at the Casa de madera, which as I think I said before is a church made of wood that was built by the youth. They use it as a place to invite in the children of the area to learn about who God is and to give them fun games and activities and food and just a place to be loved. An alpha course is being run their too.
We have also met the women and children, we are working with in the countryside. Daniel and I are going to be going to El Tambo every week, were we are helping run the women and children education and empowerment sessions. Tomorrow we start teaching English to children in a place called Yanamango, were there is no exposure to much other culture. We will be teaching telling them about our life in the UK, but importantly about how we are all brothers and sisters united in Christ.
We have been doing a lot of praise and worship in the church!!! which I love, yesterday in the sunday evening service we lead praise and worship in spanish and english then sat down. Then an awkward silence….apparently we were meant to be leading the whole service!!!! So now we will be doing that next week and we will be prepared.
We also went to a home group the other day, where I gave my testimony in Spanish!!!!! Apparently it actually made sense.
What I am learning is there are no boundaries with God, we have managed to connect on so many levels and relate and learn so much especially from the young people in the church despite any language differences.
God is using people here in Peru, peoples lives are being changed I can literally see it. People are being told of the future and a hope in Jesus and I am just honour to be here for this time to serve under the vision of Pastora Olga, WARMIS and Tearfund. To tell of who I know God to be and for Him to be revealed to me in a new way through the people I am meeting.
Life is not about stuff, when the stuff fails you…what are you holding on to?? I am meeting people who are truly clinging on to God who does not falter…
Loveee you guys misss you xxxxxxxxxxx

♥After Your Heart♥
Sympathy says..I feel sorry for you…empathy says I feel your pain…compassion does what ever is needed to help, compassion makes you do something…causes you to act…
He had compassion on them and healed their sick..Matthew 14:14…
He had compassion on them..So he began teaching them many things…Mark 6:34…
Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes..Matthew 20:34…
Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!”…Mark 1:40-41
I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat…….He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. When he had taken the seven loaves and given thanks, he broke them and gave them to his disciples to set before the people, and they did so…Mark 8:3-6
Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked. “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.” Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him….Matthew 20:32-34
As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out — the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.” Then he went up and touched the coffin, and those carrying it stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!”….Luke 7:12-14
It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”…Mark 9:22, 25.
So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him………Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet…Luke 15: 20-22
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him..He went to him and bandaged his wounds…Luke 10:33-34
There are countless examples in the bible the word COMPASSION is always followed by action…it’s followed by Kindness… not that is necessarily deserved, but it is needed and then it is given…Let us have hearts of compassion…not just sympathy and empathy……
♥After Your Heart♥
The heart is central…Love the Lord with all Your heart…Man looks at the outward appearance..God looks at the heart..Guard your heart….where your treasure is there your heart will be also…Your word I have treasured in my heart..out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks…A cheerful heart is good medicine… so a man’s heart reflects the man…forgive your brother from your heart..I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light…he who hardens his heart falls into trouble…The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart….and so on…asiwritesoami♥

" Our bodies are not supported by merely taking food into the mouth, but the process which really supplies the muscle, and the nerve, and the sinew, and the bone, is the process of digestion. It is by digestion that the outward food becomes assimilated with the inner life. Our souls are not nourished merely by listening awhile to this, and then to that, and then to the other part of divine truth. Hearing, reading, marking, and learning, all require inwardly digesting to complete their usefulness, and the inward digesting of the truth lies for the most part in meditating upon it. Why is it that some Christians, although they hear many sermons, make but slow advances in the divine life? Because they neglect their closets, and do not thoughtfully meditate on God’s Word. They love the wheat, but they do not grind it; they would have the corn, but they will not go forth into the fields to gather it; the fruit hangs upon the tree, but they will not pluck it; the water flows at their feet, but they will not stoop to drink it. From such folly deliver us, O Lord, and be this our resolve this morning, “I will meditate in Thy precepts.” " -- From Charles Spurgeon Morning, Evening
